A great film premiered at the 2005 Liberty Film Festival, Emancipation Revelation/Revolution has been getting more press lately. Alveda King (daughter of Martin Luther King), who appears in the film, was on Fox & Friends Tue. Feb. 13th talking about Emancipation Revelation/Revolution -- as it relates to whether Barak Obama would be a media-darling if he was a Republican. (He wouldn't.) Emancipation Revelation/Revolution discusses the double standards that are applied to conservative and liberal blacks, and goes into the full history of the Republican Party's role in the civil rights movement -- from Lincoln down till today.

We received word recently that director Pierre Rehov's Suicide Killers, which we recently screened at the 2006 Liberty Film Festival, will soon be released on DVD by Warner Brothers.

This represents the broadest DVD distribution deal for any film yet screened at a Liberty Film Festival, and is an exciting development both for the festival and for the filmmakers worldwide who make our event possible. We extend our congratulations to Pierre and his entire production team, and we will follow up with further release details as they become available to us.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! In the midst of this busy season we wanted to report that on Dec. 22nd Fox News showed clips from "This is DNN" -- a hilarious comedy short we premiered Opening Night at this year's Liberty Film Festival -- on Special Report with Brit Hume.

A small, vibrant moviemaking right is emerging, centered around the annual Liberty Film Festival, film mogul Philip Anschutz, and a growing group of conservative and libertarian screenwriters and documentarians. Instead of the right habitually reproving Hollywood, we might see a new cinema that artistically reflects--rather than crudely imposes--a different, nonliberal, worldview.

That would represent a big step forward in reclaiming popular culture from the left.
