Filmmaker Brooke Goldstein.
One thing is becoming clear: if you're looking for provocative film screenings in Hollywood, you can't do much better than the new Liberty Film Festival Screening Series. We held our second, packed-house screening of 350 people last week (Thurs., 10/18), featuring filmmaker Brooke Goldstein and her film The Making of a Martyr, talk show host Dennis Prager, and also Pierre Rehov's film The Road to Jenin - and the evening inspired some of the liveliest debate on the threat of Islamo-fascism that I've ever seen at a Hollywood event. We again want to thank Dennis Prager for hosting the evening. FOR A VIDEO RECAP OF THE SCREENING, CLICK HERE. |

LFF Co-Director Jason Apuzzo wants to thank the folks at the Lincoln Club of Orange County, particularly Clare Venegas and Rich Wagner, for inviting him to be the warm-up act for Sen. Fred Thompson's speech Friday night and to tell everyone about the work of The Liberty Film Festival. It was a great evening and Jason thanks everyone for the really warm reception. We're excited to inform everyone that Amazon.com is now taking DVD pre-sales for Suicide Killers, which we screened at the Liberty Film Festival in 2006. Suicide Killers is being released on DVD by Warner Brothers.
Suicide Killers is an extraordinary film about the phenomenon of suicidal Islamic terror. Not only do you get to look into the eyes of suicide killers and hear them explain their behavior (in the most chilling terms imaginable), but you begin to understand the repressive world that creates these men - and now, tragically, women as well. Suicide Killers is an absolute must-see for anyone who wishes to understand the threat we face in the War on Terror - a threat caused not by American foreign policy, or by Israeli occupation, but by repression in Islamic societies, a great deal of which is sexual repression ... A great film premiered at the 2005 Liberty Film Festival, Emancipation Revelation/Revolution has been getting more press lately. Alveda King (daughter of Martin Luther King), who appears in the film, was on Fox & Friends Tue. Feb. 13th talking about Emancipation Revelation/Revolution -- as it relates to whether Barak Obama would be a media-darling if he was a Republican. (He wouldn't.) Emancipation Revelation/Revolution discusses the double standards that are applied to conservative and liberal blacks, and goes into the full history of the Republican Party's role in the civil rights movement -- from Lincoln down till today.
There was also a recent article about the film in the Washington Times, which mentions the film's premiere at Liberty '05. Click on over for more! |

Brian Anderson (South Park Conservatives) recently had this to say in The Weekly Standard about The Liberty Film Festival:
A small, vibrant moviemaking right is emerging, centered around the annual Liberty Film Festival, film mogul Philip Anschutz, and a growing group of conservative and libertarian screenwriters and documentarians. Instead of the right habitually reproving Hollywood, we might see a new cinema that artistically reflects--rather than crudely imposes--a different, nonliberal, worldview.
That would represent a big step forward in reclaiming popular culture from the left.
We're gratified that Brian is taking an interest in what we're doing out here, and thank him for his generous remarks. |
